Translation.

With reference to the amendment of the Hongkong Customs

Agreement between Great Britain and China a Meeting of the

Cabinet decides that declarations on three points extracted

from a letter from the Ministry of Finance should be annexed

to the Agreement:

1. It should be declared that the reference in the

Agreement to any non-treaty port upon the inland

water-waye of the province of Kwangtung refers to

ports on inland water-ways of Kwangtung province

on which steam launches have hitherto been per-

-mitted to ply.

2. It should be declared that Hongkong launches

plying on the inland water-ways of Kwangtung

province must act in accordance with the Inland

Waters Regulations.

3. It should be declared that Hongkong Junks entering

the territorial waters of Kwangtung or the inland

water-ways of that province shall observe all

Chinese Regulations.
